Today I wanted to sit down and compile a list of all the transportation options to the residents (and visitors) of The Woodlands. While The Woodland is bicycle friendly, there are two official transportation programs operating here: The Woodlands Express park and Ride service and The Woodlands Town Center Trolleys.
The Woodlands Express Park and Ride
The Woodlands Express service provides a convenient and economical way to commute to Downtown Houston. The express bus operates Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, and destinations include the Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, as well as the Central Business District of Houston. The Woodlands Town Center Trolleys
The Woodlands trolleys operate seven days a week, except certain holidays, for no cost, within the "front of The Woodlands". It connects The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, and Hughes Landing with Town Center businesses and residences throughout the service area. Ride Share
Uber
Get a ride in minutes. Or become a driver and earn money on your schedule. Uber is finding you better ways to move, work, and succeed. Rides are available through the Uber app.
Lyft
Rideshare with Lyft. Lyft is your friend with a car, whenever you need one. Download the Lyft app and get a ride from a friendly driver within minutes.
Other Options
ADA Paratransit Service
In accordance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, The Woodlands Township provides ADA Complementary Paratransit Service in conjunction with the fixed-route Town Center Trolley service. This service is provided for persons unable to utilize the regular Town Center Trolley service.
Interfaith of the Woodlands Senior Transportation
Provides rides to essential appointments, as well as delivering monthly groceries to homebound senior adults, through the Senior Grocery Delivery program.
Coming Soon
Bike-Sharing
After 10 months of service, MoBike has ceased operations in The Woodlands in addition to many other communities throughout the country. The company is reducing their footprint in North America.
The Township is soliciting similar replacement services and hopes to announce a new bike share program in the near future.
I am all fingers crossed on the bike-sharing program to come back. It was one of my favorite features of The Woodlands!
